BPUK delivered an open letter to Tulip Siddiq MP on 12 September 2024, in her capacity as City Minister. We had previously corresponded cordially with her predecessor, Bim Afolami on the same matter. A copy of our letter is below.

We are writing in response to the Minister and look forward to continuing our dialogue with her and with the FCA on these matters.
We are also pleased to note that our materials have been shared with the relevant policy team at HM Treasury and have offered time and expertise to HM Treasury in order to contribute to a review of the regulatory treatment of Bitcoin in the UK.
