Bitcoin Policy UK has been working with the independent journalist L0la L33tz in pursuing a Freedom of Information request made to the National Crime Agency in the UK.

In August, following some very bold claims about cryptocurrency in the NCA’s National Risk Strategy Assessment, L0la submitted a Freedom of Information request to them:

This request went unanswered.

L0La reached out to us, and one of the lawyers on the team agreed to assist her with the next steps. Accordingly, we wrote a follow up to the NCA, noting that they were in breach of their statutory obligations, and that we’d give them a further 14 days to reply:

This letter also went unanswered.

We have now escalated the matter to the Information Commissioner’s Office – stay tuned for updates.
