In the last decade, interest in Bitcoin has surged in the UK.
Businesses are building, individuals are investing, environmentalists are exploring Bitcoin mining and UK policy makers are exploring how to enact sensible regulation to capitalise on this opportunity to the benefit of the UK.
In October 2022, Edinburgh hosted the UK's first Bitcoin-only conference organised by The Bitcoin Collective.
The conference brought together bitcoin businesses, policymakers, artists, musicians, academics, and the public for the first large-scale event of its kind, featuring world-renowned speakers from across the globe.
Inspired by the potential of Bitcoin for the UK, the Bitcoin Policy UK team met at the conference and decided to launch an organisation uniting our community for this mission.
